A Raisin in the Sun

Get Your Books Fast!
Saturday-Saturday, March 20-27, 10AM, East Side Library
The Friends of the East Side Library will be putting on their annual used book sale. This year items will include books, magazines, records, DVDs, videocassettes, paperback books and more. Proceeds go to the Friends of the Library. The sale will operate during regular business hours.

SPRING BREAK 2010
The library is always a busy place, but we’ve scheduled several special activities to keep kids busy during their week out of school from March 15-19. Stop by for all sorts of fun events. Visit the library’s web site to check out the fun.

    Monday Lunch Bunch: Bring your lunch and listen to stories while you eat.
    Then make a fun leprechaun craft. Preregister.

    Game On: kids ages 8-12 are invited to come in to play Wii games and board games.

  • Monday, March 15, 2:00-3:00 PM, Franklin Avenue Library/Merle Hay Mall. Game On: looking for something to do? Come hang out with us and play some fun board games. Snacks provided. Ages 5 and up. Bring your parents to play too!

  • Tuesday, March 23, 3:30PM, North Side Library - Healthy snacks program. It is essential for children to nutritionally recharge at the end of the school day to fuel growing bodies and minds. A Hy-Vee dietitian will offer expert advice about the importance of eating a healthy after-school snack. Sponsored by Wellmark.

  • Thursday, March 25, 4:00PM, South Side Library-Martial Arts Program. Brandon Miller of Farrell's U.S. Martial Arts and Fitness will teach participants about the importance of exercise and healthy eating. Participants will also get to try out some fitness moves on their own. Sponsored by Wellmark.
